NA™ Launches Te Reo Māori Homepage

September 11, 2023
THE STORY

Visitors to Not Another’s website will experience the homepage in te reo Māori this week, in celebration of Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori.

The Ōtautahi-based full service creative agency is on a journey of incorporating te reo Māori and te ao Māori into every aspect of its work.

“Translating our homepage is a small step on a much larger cultural journey for us as an organisation,” Not Another’s Kaitohutohu Māori, Josiah Komene (Ngāpuhi), says.

“We want to do our bit to normalise and celebrate Aotearoa’s indigenous language, and promote the vibrant Māori language and culture with our site visitors who come from all over the world.”

On the translated homepage, Not Another’s mission of “Creating the brands, creating the future” becomes “Te tārai i ngā pakihi e tārai ai i te anamata”.

Not Another worked closely with Ariana Stevens at Reo Māori Mai to have the homepage translated. It’s just the beginning, with plans to do the rest of the website and have full te reo Māori translation as a full time option.

“When working with clients on their websites, especially when it comes to government agencies, we often tell them they should translate it into te reo Māori, so we thought we should probably take our own advice,” Not Another co-founder Adrien Taylor says.

The translation of the Not Another website is just a small part of much larger mahi being undertaken at the B Corp certified creative agency.

The agency has multiple upcoming announcements to make regarding its mahi in incorporating and promoting Māori culture and language internally, and with Aotearoa’s wider business community.

Not Another™ is a B Corp certified full-service creative agency founded in 2019, with studios in Aotearoa and Australia.
