Founded by Not Another™ co founder, Adrien Taylor, it's fair to say Offcut has always been close to our heart. Doing work on Offcut always feels personal because it is personal.
When Offcut needed a new website, we took the opportunity to take a look at the whole brand. Since launching from Adrien's parent's house in 2015, the business had evolved to be more than just a hat company: it now made wallets and luggage tags out of leather offcuts destined for landfill as well as a backpack from misprinted truck curtain. We needed to create a new website on Shopify that could better display the new offering, but also evolve the core brand to better represent the company's offering.
Our first step was to evolve the core logo from Offcut "Capmakers" to Offcut "Original". This removed the product range limitation and also established the brand as the original amongst a growing number of businesses emulating Offcut's scrap to merch business model.
From there, we applied the updated identity to a new website, customer email templates (order confirmation, order on its way etc), and, of course, to the Offcut products themselves.
